In this course, we will focus on the fundamentals of good poetry writing and learn to create meaningful, engaging works of art. We will cover everything from image and tone to style and stanza to word choice and line break to see how each element of the craft is integral to composing successful, sophisticated poems. We’ll learn by doing, as this is a hands-on, generative course. Every lesson, every exercise, and every workshop is designed to help you hone your craft. You’ll get direct feedback from your peers and from me on all your work. This class is perfect for poets who are just starting out or who may even have a couple publications under their belt.
