BCAC PURSUIT Class: Polaroid Emulsion Lifts

June 27 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Thursday, June 27 from 6-8 PM
One session | $50
Presenter: Alana K. Davis

A Polaroid Emulsion lift is an analog photography technique where the translucent emulsion layer is removed from the back of a Polaroid instant photo and transferred to another surface, such as glass, wood or paper.

In this workshop, participants will work with a self-portrait or may bring in an object to photograph. That photo will be turned into a beautiful polaroid emulsion lift print.
We will go over techniques on how to compose a simple portrait as well as the technical aspects of creating a Polaroid lift on watercolor paper. We’ll talk about some contemporary components to this analog process, like using a modern Polaroid instant camera, printers, and the applications that go with it.

Workshop cost includes one Polaroid portrait (a single instant film), additional films may be purchased from the instructor.
