Thursdays at the Museum: Tea and Program

Join the Phelps Mansion on Thursday May 4th for Tea and a program.  This month’s program will be music by Rick Pedro.

Tea Service starts at 12pm and the program begins at 1pm.

Cost:  $25.00 lunch and program

            $7.00- Program only

Reservations are necessary for lunch and can be made by calling 607-722-4873   Reservations must be made by Monday May 1st at 5pm.

Menu: (each guest will receive 2 of each sandwich listed below)

Chicken Salad, cucumber, cream cheese, water cress, egg salad

Strawberries with whipped cream

Raspberry Jam

Cheesecake

Scones

Important information: At time of booking please indicate any dietary restrictions. An alternate lunch of Tuna fish can be provided upon requests.

 

 

Sundays at the Phelps series of spring dances.  You don’t need a partner, just come and enjoy!

Date and time:  Sunday, April 30th, from 2pm to 4pm

Future dates for performances include:  5/21, and 6/24

Prices:

$15 for adults,

$12 for Seniors and Students

Kids under five are free.

Blue Velvet Big Band has been a musical force in the Southern Tier for forty years. We play music that spans the 1940s swing and concert compositions to today’s contemporary ballads and up-tempo dance tunes. Our band of saxophones, trumpets, trombones, drums, piano, bass guitar and vocalists offer a variety of dance styles for you to dance to: Latin, Rhumba, cha cha, waltz, west and east coast swing, polka, tango, rock and bluesy freestyle, bossa, mambo, foxtrot and samba. Dances are for single or couples, just come and meet other dancers.

Binghamton audiences may know Steven Nanni from his work with Binghamton’s Downtown Singers, the Catskill Choral Society, the Catskill Symphony, the Summer Savoyards, Tri-Cities Opera and local churches. Nanni has performed over 25 leading roles in opera and oratorio, such as Alfredo in Verdi’s “La Traviata”; Tito in Mozart’s “La Clemenza di Tito”; Don Ottavio in “Don Giovanni”; Tamino in “Die Zauberflote;” Count Almaviva in Rossini’s “Il Barbiere di Siviglia”; Ernesto in Donizetti’s “Don Pasquale”; and Nemorino in “L’elisir D’amore.” Oratorios include Bach’s “Magnificat,” “Mass in B Minor” and “St. Matthew Passion”; Haydn’s “Creation”; Handel’s “Messiah”; Mozart’s “Requiem”; Mendelssohn’s “Elijah”; Bruckner’s “Te Deum”; and Orff’s “Carmina Burana.” He has also appeared in light opera, art song and lieder recitals with piano accompaniment and full orchestras.

First Friday – Piano Recital

Join the student of Pej Reitz for the annual piano recital here at the Phelps Mansion Museum.

Recital is scheduled to start at 6pm.  The museum will be open for viewing immediately following the recital.

Admission is FREE, donations to the Phelps are always appreciated.
