World-renowned Costa Rican choreographer Rogelio López collaborates with Binghamton University faculty and students to present ENCOUNTERS—an original, multimedia dance-theater production that explores the powerful relationship between the human body and the natural world.

Blending dance, acting, live music, and striking projections, ENCOUNTERS is a visually rich and emotionally resonant journey. López, celebrated for his lifelong investigation of movement as a universal language, leads this dynamic exploration of identity, memory, and our connection to nature.

Created in partnership with the BU community, ENCOUNTERS is an immersive experience that invites audiences to witness the stories our bodies hold—where movement, sound, and visuals come together in one unforgettable performance.

Sunset Mirage

An original dance production Directed/Choreographed by David Wynen
Associate Choreography by Neva Kenny
Performing in Watters Theater
8 p.m. March 4–5 and 2 p.m. March 5–6, 2022

Sunset Mirage is about a time and a place and an encounter that coincides for just a
moment. It happens in a place that is hot, desolate and forgotten. A place that was once a visited destination on the highway, now broken and dusty with just the remnants of what was. We create a mirage as we start with nothing at sunset as the piece comes to life moment by moment from restlessness to the unstoppable impulse to celebrate and let loose.

Buy Tickets Online,by phone (607-777-2787) or at Anderson Center’s Box Office.
