2024 Columbus Day Parade (Binghamton)
October 14
Our event will feature the Tournament of Marching Bands and the Columbus Day Parade with six high school marching bands from Athens and Tioga, PA; Union-Endicott, Chenango Forks, Johnson City and Whitney Point and our host Binghamton High School Steel Drum Band; Italian fraternal organizations, dignitaries, antique cars, fire trucks and sports teams and will process from the intersection of Main & Arthur Streets east through the downtown to end at the Broome County Courthouse.
At 9:00 AM, we will have a brief Italian Flag-Raising ceremony in front of City Hall on State Street with members of the Italian community, Mayor Kraham, local dignitaries, a Tri-Cities Opera singer and the news media. The parade begins at 10:00 AM and will be followed by our Italian Festival, which takes place during and after the parade and an awards ceremony for the school marching bands. This year’s parade will include students from the Italian Club at Union Endicott High School who expect to be joined by visiting exchange students from Varese, Italy. Parade fans and participants can all enjoy authentic Italian delicacies from our local Italian community and church groups, and we will have live music with Rooster & the Roadhouse Horns.
Once again, our event is made possible by the support of the City of Binghamton with additional sponsorship from Garufi Law, PC.
