The Philharmonic returns on Saturday, March 25 at 3pm at the Broome County Forum Theatre with “Pops at the Forum.” The program will feature cherished classics, including: John Philip Sousa’s Memorial Day tribute Hands Across the Sea; Gioachino Rossini’s opulent Barber of Seville Overture; Johann Strauss II’s quintessential Blue Danube; Leroy Anderson’s quirky The Typewriter, featuring soloist Sam Lazzara; Georges Bizet’s Carmen Suite; and Manuel de Falla’s bewitching Ritual Fire Dance. This concert will also pay homage to musicals and movie soundtracks favorites with: Leonard Bernstein’s West Side Story Suite; Richard Rodgers’ The Sound of Music Suite; and Hans Zimmer’s Pirates of the Caribbean Suite.
