Binghamton Porchfest
August 25 @ 12:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Binghamton Porchfest is a free, collaborative celebration of music and community created by and for residents of the Abel Bennett Historic Tract on the west side of Binghamton, NY.
The last Sunday each August, the tree-lined streets where Rod Serling spent his youth come alive with the sounds of over 150 performances by local and regional musicians, staged on dozens of residential porches, yards, and driveways. Thousands of community members come out to dance in the streets, reconnect with old friends, and sip lemonade provided by the neighborhood’s youngest residents.
Since its inception in 2015, Binghamton Porchfest has quickly become one of the region’s most anticipated cultural events: the 2021 celebration featured 167 performances on 58 porches, showcasing the combined efforts of over 750 volunteers.
Like the many other independently operating Porchfests across America (over 200!), Binghamton Porchfest is modeled after a DIY festival hosted by the residents of Ithaca, NY since 2007.
