In this Halloween talk, historians Sarah Handley-Cousins and Elizabeth Masarik, two of the four producers of Dig: A History Podcast and authors of Spiritualism’s Place: A Reflective History of Lily Dale, New York, will discuss their forthcoming book on the history of the Western New York village of Lily Dale, the self-described “world’s largest center for the religion of Spiritualism.” Sarah and Elizabeth will share stories of the mysterious spirit communications, skeptics’ investigations, radical women, and searching wanderers who make up Lily Dale’s fascinating, complex history.
