Corinne Mammana Christmas Jazz Concert at Phelps Mansion Museum
December 7 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Enjoy jazz arrangements of classic Christmas songs performed in a sophisticated and soothing style by jazz songstress, Corinne Mammana and her pianist, Patrick Kerssen. Praised by JazzTimes for “superb technique” and All About Jazz for her “sheer genius” arrangements, American jazz singer, songwriter, arranger, recording artist and bandleader Corinne Mammana is passionate about preserving the music of the past, while placing her own personal spin on the American Songbook and Christmas songs. The concert marks the first stop on a seven city Christmas tour of the Northeast and Midwest celebrating Mammana’s 2022 Christmas EP, In the Christmas City. The EP salutes the Christmas season in her hometown of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania (nicknamed “the Christmas City”) via a 5-track collection of reimagined Christmas favorites and originals. Talkin’ Broadway said, “Some vocalists pull a listener in immediately, right from the first phrase. With her gorgeous voice, knowing approach to lyrics to establish intimacy, and her own sensitive arrangements, Corinne Mammana is that kind of enthralling artist on her EP. One can almost see those sights of the season she sings about with tender loving attention and glowing appreciation in ‘Christmas Time Is Here’ and the cozy conversation-like self-penned title song of ‘In the Christmas City.’”
Mammana has released three albums— “Under an August Moon” (2016 EP), “Yes, No, Next” (2020), and “In the Christmas City” (2022 EP) which all received international praise (JazzLife Japan, AXS, LA Jazz Scene, to name a few). Mammana’s Christmas EP ranked in the Top 200 JazzWeek Chart and received airplay on Sirius XM’s Real Jazz Holiday. In August 2022, Mammana was invited to headline the Northwest Jazz Festival alongside jazz icons Stacey Kent and Emmet Cohen. Mammana has supported such artists as Haley Reinhart and Cyrille Aimée. In April 2022 she brought her popular Disney Songbook Concert to the Sellersville Theater. In New York City, Mammana has performed at Birdland Jazz Club (Jim Caruso’s Cast Party), the Metropolitan Room and the Duplex Cabaret Theatre. She has also performed at Chrisʼ Jazz Cafe, the legendary Deer Head Inn, Jazz Forum’s Summer Concert Series (NY), Shanghai Jazz Club, Scranton Jazz Festival, Jazz on Main, City Winery Philadelphia, Musikfest and countless other clubs and concert halls on the East Coast.
Originally from suburbia Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Mammana holds a Bachelor of Music degree from James Madison University where she was classically trained in voice. She performed in professional theaters for many years before discovering her passion for jazz music. Mammana studies privately with world-renowned voice teacher Dr. William Riley (Celine Dion and Whitney Houston’s coach). Mammana is also an educator and teaches private voice and piano lessons. She enjoys sharing her passion for music with aspiring artists.

But Mammana applies her superb technique gracefully, carefully, tastefully and intelligently. There are no clichés in her singing and no licks. She wisely lets the melody and lyrics speak for themselves.”—JazzTimes.“Her voice seems capable of pushing away storm clouds and darkness. We need this right now.”—Michael Doherty
