Along with the April showers that bring May flowers comes the perfect opportunity to refresh your color palette and create beautiful, vibrant artwork.

This pastel painting class is designed for both emerging and advanced artists seeking the opportunity to learn and actively practice valuable art skills. During the class, you will work from a still life, explore pastel works from the Artisan Gallery April exhibition (Adam Tharpe, “Measures of Grace in Soft Pastel”), study traditional art references and have the chance to paint local landscapes outdoors.

Throughout the two-hour class, the instructor will demonstrate pastel painting techniques step-by-step, which you will practice under their mentorship, both in class and on your own. You will also have the chance to refresh or enhance your basic skills in sketching, perspective, and composition—key elements for successful pastel painting.
