Summer Camp Open House
April 29, 2023 @ 10:30 am - 12:00 pm
The Phelps Mansion Museum is hosting an Open House on Saturday April 29th from 10:30 am – Noon that will give kids a taste of the two unique camp programs to be held there this summer. The Open House features the Secrets of Magic show and workshop presented by Magician David Black, director of the Amazing Kids Magic Camp and additional fun activities presented by the Phelps Mansion Museum.
Children will enjoy a fun, engaging magic show followed by a hands-on session in which the kids learn the secrets behind the tricks just presented. In a fun twist, the magician doesn’t do the tricks – audience members are brought up on stage and, to their amazement, they perform all the magic! They make colorful ribbons switch places in the blink of an eye, save an adult from being doused with water, and, using only the power of their mind, move a chosen playing card to a special location. Participants receive a “Top Secret” file folder that contains instructions for even more magic effects that they can enjoy long after the session ends.
Come explore history with us this summer. The Phelps Mansion will be hosting a summer camp for kids ages 9-12 from July 10th-14th.
Students will learn local history, participate in 19th century games, learn how to be a tour guide and so much more.
The recommended age for this program is from seven to twelve years. For details and registration go to PhelpsMansion.org/event/.
