Stationed at Home (Coming Soon)

On Christmas Eve 1998 in Binghamton, New York, a solitary taxi driver on a frigid graveyard shift breathlessly awaits the sight of the International Space Station on a rare clear night. As the hours count down, an offbeat ensemble of misfit passengers derail his plans and propel the story to its exhilarating climax. In this poetic, hilarious and often absurd tale, these complete strangers discover unexpected unity and a newfound understanding of their place among the stars. The film was shot on location in Binghamton and Johnson City and prominently features a dozen Binghamton locations.

Bloodfly (2023)

Filmed on the east side of Binghamton and at the local bar The Cave. Locally written, produced and directed by Richard Harlost.

Dick’s Sporting Goods House of Sport Commercial (2023)

Filmed with local athletes throughout Binghamton, Johnson City and Conklin in conjunction with the new House of Sports opening. The commercial featured JC Little League Teams, runners and the Cortese Restaurant.

Samsung EV Corporate Commercial (2022)

Drone footage throughout country roads of Binghamton, Maine and Vestal provided a backdrop for a Samsung Electric Vehicle campaign.

The Overnight (2022)

The Overnight, written and produced by local filmmaker Richard Harlost, was filmed entirely in Binghamton. Some of the locations were the old Grand Royale hotel, the Madhatter on Clinton Street, and Washington Street in Binghamton. Currently streaming on Tubi.

The Rewrite (2014)

An Oscar-winning writer in a slump leaves Hollywood to teach screenwriting at a college on the East Coast, where he falls for a single mom taking classes there. Starring Hugh Grant, Marisa Tomei and JK Simmons. Scenes were shot at Binghamton University’s campus, Recreation Park, and the Spiedie and Rib Pit.

This music video performed by pop superstar Taylor Swift was filmed in Binghamton’s MacArthur Park.  

My Kid Could Paint That (2007)

A look at the work and surprising success of a four-year-old girl whose paintings have been compared to the likes of Picasso and has raked in hundreds of thousands of dollars was a documentary based in Binghamton.

Shades of Darkness (2000)

A malicious entity attempts to wipe out the population of a New England town and one woman must unlock the secrets of her past lives to defeat it.

Liebestraum (1991)

Written and directed by Mike Figgis. A successful writer and professor of architecture Nick Kaminsky returns from New York to Elderstown to visit his biological mother Lillian Anderson Munnsen who is terminally ill. The famous downtown cast-iron Isaac Perry building was a key location as well as a character in this 1990s film noir drama. Other notable locations include the Castle on the Hill, the Woolworth Building and downtown city streets.
