VINES, The Junior League of Binghamton, Mountain Top Grove, BNB Kettle and Binghamton Fluorescent teams up to fight food insecurity in Binghamton!

Celebrate Memorial Day Weekend with a ‘Snack & Lunch Drive-Thru’ featuring a mouthwatering Clambake To-Go and gourmet Red, White & Blue Popcorn!

The Binghamton area has a high rate of food insecurity, which has been increased by the pandemic. VINES and The Junior League of Binghamton fight back with the ‘Dick Andrus Community Garden’ project.

This project will help provide fresh produce to families in need as the fruit will be distributed to the community through VINES’ Farm Share program and through CHOW’s pantries.

VINES will maintain the legacy of Dick Andrus, a late founder of VINES, by transforming 29 & 31 Corbett Ave into a community orchard. These properties were donated by Dick and his family to VINES for the sake of building an orchard that would produce food for the community and help educate people about the possibilities of urban fruit production. In addition, fruit tree saplings and other fruit bearing plants will be started at the orchard and then transplanted in community gardens and other community spaces around the County, helping produce additional fruit for those in need.

A portion of the fundraiser proceeds from Binghamton Fluorescent, Mountain Top Grove and BnB Kettle will be donated to the project.
