42nd Annual Newark Valley Apple Festival

Please join us for the 42nd Annual Newark Valley Apple Festival. October 7&8 from 10-5pm. Located at the Bement-Billings Farmstead on Route 38 in Newark Valley. You will find great music, delicious food, history, tours, crafts, vendors, costumed demonstrators, spinning and weaving, kids’ activities, gift shop, black powder muzzleloaders, primitive archery, and plenty more!

Event supports the ongoing restoration of Kilmer Mansion!

Jesse Parker: Owner, A Note of Elegance. Owner & Teacher, Parker Music Studio. Performances with Binghamton Philharmonic Orchestra, Carnegie Hall, Steinway Hall, The Eastman Kodak Theater, The Avery Fischer Center.

Kelly Roggenkamp: Performances with Tri-Cities Opera, Summer Savoyards, The Kimmel Center, Carnegie Hall, The Frederick Loewe Theater.

This event, in memory of Gregg Wenzel ’91, will consist of a 5K run/walk around campus. The 5K is open to all. Wenzel was a triathlete and former student-athlete at Binghamton who competed on the men’s varsity swimming and diving team. He was killed in a car accident in July 2003 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, where he was working as a CIA director of operations. Register online for this event. Race check-in and on-site registration will take place at the West Gym. The run/walk will start and end in front of the Gregg Wenzel Memorial statue on Bearcat Boulevard. Awards will be given to the top male and female finishers in separate age categories. Race-day registration at the West Gym will start at 7:45 a.m. The entry fee is $10 for students and $20 for all others. Entrants must be 13 years or older.

Binghamton NY Caribbean Carnival is a celebration of Caribbean culture featuring music, food and more! Transport yourself to the Caribbean as you dance to the pulsating rhythms of Soca, Reggae and Calypso.
Enjoy the imagery of revelers bedecked in costumes featuring feathers, rhinestones and more to represent Trinidad, Jamaica, Haiti, Puerto Rico and many more! Broome County has a robust Caribbean community that is extremely proud to represent their culture.

J’ouvert is a Caribbean celebration that typically takes place the night or morning of Carnival. It is filled with the pulsating rhythms of Soca, Reggae and Calypso music. Revelers traditionally splash each other with brightly colored paint but we are switching out to silly string for obvious reasons. Bring your silly string!

Southern Tier Independence Center (STIC) is a not for profit organization that provides support, services and advocacy on behalf of children and adults with all types of disabilities to promote full community inclusion and independence.
All proceeds will benefit STIC and the people with disabilities we serve.

STIC’s 2nd Annual Holiday Craft Fair, featuring handmade items and baked goods from around the area, as well as activities for children. Start your holiday shopping early!

Engage with local health and wellness experts, explore community resources, and discover ways to prioritize your health and wellness while enjoying the vibrant atmosphere of the farmers market.

Take advantage of free health screenings, participate in a class or workshop, and interact with local organizations and businesses in our area offering educational resources, activities and demonstrations, products and services, giveaways, and more!

Join The Beloved Community for a fun-filled day of making a positive impact on our community! If you would like to beautify Binghamton while making new friends, come to our trash cleanup and social event on Saturday, July 15th from 11am-2pm. Let’s make our city shine!

Agenda:
Meet outside of Identity LGBTQ Youth Center at 11:00am. Together, we will walk around the downtown area to clean up any litter we come across. Around 1:00pm, we will stop for some drinks and snacks at a local restaurant. Around 2:00pm we will head back to Identity to depart.

What to bring:
Please bring close-toed shoes and comfortable clothes. Garbage bags and gloves will be provided.
